Mosaic Art Design Contest

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions may be for one or two benches.  Please note that there will be two benches in the final installation.  These benches will be installed near the Merrill College Office entry. The top of the bench dimensions measure 45 inches in length and 15 inches in depth.
  • This design contest is open to members of the Merrill College community:  Students affiliated with Merrill, Merrill staff and faculty, including faculty fellows, Merrill alumni, and members of the Merrill Pottery Co-Op.

  • All designs should aptly represent Merrill College.

  • Designs incorporating mosaic elements are highly recommended

  • Merrill alumni will work on tile bench elements at Merrill’s Annual Moat Day to be held April 25th.  Therefore, all submissions should include some element of “personalization potential” (e.g., background elements could be composed of tiles with alumni names or dedications on them).

  • Winners will have a Pottery Co-Op membership scholarship created in their names (or two scholarships in the event one person creates both bench designs). These will be awarded to scholarship applicants for the 2015-2016 academic year.

  • Winners will be required to meet with the Pottery Co-Op managers to discuss design elements

  • Winners must be present at Moat Day: Saturday, April 25, 2015

You may submit your design one of three ways:
